Tides Canada unveils its annual Top 10: National award recognizes Canada’s leading social change initiatives

Last night, the annual Tides Top 10 was awarded to ten of the country’s leading social change initiatives. Each year, Tides Canada recognizes Canada’s most innovative leaders working to solve pressing social justice and environmental challenges.
Tides Canada is pleased to announce that this year’s Tides Top 10 are:
- Arviat Community Ecotourism Initiative
- Canadian Freshwater Alliance
- Équiterre
- Pond Inlet Environmental Technology Program
- Qqs Project Society
- Random Hacks of Kindness
- Reconciliation Canada
- Sacred Headwaters conservation collaboration
- Toronto Park People
- Writers’ Exchange
“Creating outcomes that work for both people and our planet is tough work,” said Ross McMillan, President and CEO of Tides Canada. “But each and every one of the Tides Top 10 is doing just that – they are building the cutting-edge solutions that Canada needs now and for a resilient future.”
The Tides Top 10 list was unveiled at a private event last night with over 200 guests in attendance at the Arta Gallery in Toronto. In addition to regular awards programming, a video introducing and celebrating this year’s Tides Top 10 was aired and is now available here. Each year, Tides Canada searches from coast to coast to coast to find candidates based on a set of selection criteria.
Tides Canada is the country’s largest public charitable foundation for social justice and the environment, and home to a shared platform for 40 in-house projects, ranging from neighbourhood-scale social initiatives through to national conservation efforts.
