Identifying Challenges and Creating Solutions

Tides Canada identifies new environmental and social challenges and brings together the resources and leadership to make change happen. We pool ideas, strategies, people, and capital together to achieve the greatest impacts on the key issues of our time like helping people escape poverty, strengthen their communities, and live on a healthy planet.

An example of our leadership role can be seen in the Great Bear Rainforest. Tides Canada led the Canadian fundraising campaign and supported coalition building among Canada’s leading environmental organizations to protect the Great Bear Rainforest — one of the most significant conservation programs in North American history.

Increasing Efficiency and Effectiveness

One of the challenges of the nonprofit world is the amount of redundancy. Each new nonprofit organization reinvents the need for the same financial, legal and human resources services. About the Name “Tides”

There are a number of reasons why the word “Tides” is an appropriate metaphor for our work. Tides are a clean, efficient and sustainable source of energy. Tides connect us around the world. And Tides are constantly changing the landscape around us.
