Project Specialist
Toronto – Full Time, Permanent

Tides Canada Initiatives (TCI) is seeking a full-time Project Specialist for our Toronto office. The Project Specialist will work closely with and complement the Director, TCI and the TCI Support Team based in our Vancouver and Toronto offices. He or she will provide direct support to a part of TCI’s portfolio of nearly 40 projects. This includes day-to-day liaison and project management support for existing projects on a broad range of issues.

TCI Project Coordinator & Toronto Office Administrator

The TCI Project Coordinator works in concert with the Project Specialist to provide a high‐level of ongoing support to TCI’s projects. The position is also responsible for portions of the TCI Intranet and general administration. As Office Administrator, the successful candidate will provide general support for the Toronto office and also administrative support to the VP, Development & Strategic Initiatives (Toronto) and VP, Information & Communications (Vancouver).

Project Director, Not Far From the Tree
Toronto – Full-time, One Year

Not Far From The Tree, a project of Tides Canada, puts Toronto’s abundance of local fruit to good use by picking and sharing the bounty. Founded in 2008, Not Far From The Tree aims to build community, foster environmental sustainability and enable equitable access to an existing supply of nutritious, local food.

The Project Director will be an inspiring and dedicated professional passionate about the work. A skilled and determined fundraiser, the successful candidate will have the leadership capacity to take the project through its next phase of development. The Project Director is the primary leadership position of Not Far From The Tree’s staff team and reports to the Steering Committee while working in conjunction with the Tides Canada support team.

Resource Lead, Lost Lyrics, The Base
Toronto – Five month term

Lost Lyrics, an initiative of Tides Canada project The Base, is a mobile and innovative learning incubator that empowers thousands of young people to create a bridge of knowledge between the streets and the classroom.

The Resource Lead works in collaboration with the Interim Initiative Lead and The Base Project Director to acquire resources for Lost Lyrics (financial, in-kind, etc,) and maintain the overall financial health of Lost Lyrics in partnership with Tides Canada.

Lost Lyrics, an initiative of Tides Canada project The Base, is a mobile and innovative learning incubator that empowers thousands of young people to create a bridge of knowledge between the streets and the classroom.

The Programming Coordinator works in collaboration with the Initiative Lead to coordinate Lost Lyrics programs (mobile and rooted), develop curriculum, nurture programming partnerships and supervise and train programming staff, contractors, interns and volunteers.

Coordinator, Arctic Funders Collaborative
Canada – Permanent, Part-Time (3 Days a Week)

Arctic Funders Collaborative (AFC), a project of Tides Canada, promotes informed and effective grantmaking to support healthy Arctic communities and ecosystems. AFC members, primarily philanthropic foundations based in North America, work across the circumpolar Arctic to build capacity in areas such as science and traditional knowledge, individual and institutional leadership, sustainable livelihoods, resilient communities, land, water and wildlife conservation, and policy development and advocacy.

The coordinator will help guide the renewal, development, and strategic direction of the AFC, together with its Steering Committee and members. Responsibilities include implementing and maintaining the operating, financial and administrative systems, policies and procedures that support AFC’s work, mission and goals. The Coordinator interacts with AFC’s members, and supports their collective activities via electronic and in-person networking, shared learning and orientation to the Arctic, and the alignment, attraction and leveraging of Arctic philanthropic funding.

Interim Project Director, ArtReach

ArtReach, a project of Tides Canada, is designed to support arts initiatives that engage youth with limited access to artistic opportunities.

The Interim Project Director is a maternity leave coverage position that will initiate fundraising efforts; manage office functions and administration, as well as the youth arts grant program. Experience with grant writing, fundraising, report writing, youth arts programming and event planning is required.
