Project Facilitator
East Scarborough Storefront – Full-time

East Scarborough Storefront, a project of Tides Canada Initiatives Society, uses the power of collaboration to support people and build community. The role of Storefront staff is to act as catalysts and facilitators for residents, agencies, academics, businesses and anyone else looking to strengthen the Kingston Galloway/Orton Park Community. The Neighbourhood Trust is a ground breaking approach to community development. It provides a shared platform for residents to lead their own not for profit initiatives in the local community. The Project Facilitator is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Neighbourhood Trust, supporting its resident-led projects and administrating its financial procedures.

Community Resource Specialist
East Scarborough Storefront – Full-time

East Scarborough Storefront, a project of Tides Canada Initiatives Society, is a unique consortium of partner agencies bringing a wide variety of services to the East Scarborough community. Storefront staff act as a bridge between community members, services and resources. The Community Resource Specialist plays a crucial role in providing information, referrals and access to services to members of the Kingston/Galloway – Orton Park community. In addition to working collaboratively with agency partners and services providers, this role links community members to available resources and opportunities. The position is full-time Monday to Friday (schedule to be determined) with some evening and weekend work required.

Community Engagement Specialist
Not Far From The Tree – Full-time, 9 months

Not Far From The Tree, a project of Tides Canada Initiatives Society, puts Toronto’s abundance of local fruit to good use by picking and sharing the bounty. We engage and mobilize Torontonians to steward the food-producing trees in our urban forest. Our innovative and award-winning programs promote urban ecology, activate local food, and build social cohesion. Launched in 2008, our fruit picking program is now entering its fifth anniversary season. Not Far From The Tree’s programs are committed to involving volunteers in hands-on, meaningful ways to address global issues on a neighbourhood level. Not Far From The Tree so far has received interest from 1000+ volunteers.
