Administrative Specialist
Vancouver – Permanent, Full-time

We currently have a permanent, full time opening at our Vancouver office for an Administrative Specialist to provide executive, administrative and data-management assistance to two senior executives and play a key contributing role for Tides Canada Initiatives. The successful candidate is an administrative professional with a positive, can-do attitude, relishes the detail-oriented work that comes with improving and maintaining a critical data-management system, possesses exceptional organizational abilities and communication skills and enjoys wearing (and constantly changing) many hats, all while displaying a great sense of humour, patience and maturity.

Not Far From The Tree – Summer Student
Logistics and Equipment Assistant - 30 hours/week; 7 week term

Not Far From The Tree, a project of Tides Canada Initiatives Society, puts Toronto’s abundance of local fruit to good use by picking and sharing the bounty. We engage and mobilize Torontonians to steward the food-producing trees in our urban forest. Our innovative and award-winning programs promote urban ecology, activate local food and build social cohesion. Working closely with the Picking Coordinator, the Logistics and Equipment Assistant will provide logistical support to our fruit picking program and events, ensure equipment needs are met and support Not Far From The Tree’s volunteer team.

ArtReach Toronto
Project Coordinator – 3 days/week; 6 month term

ArtReach Toronto, a project of Tides Canada Initiatives, supports local arts initiatives that engage excluded youth. This is carried out through the provision of resources, mentorship, tools and skill building opportunities for young artists, youth leaders and youth-led groups and organizations in Toronto. The Project Coordinator will develop, implement and evaluate a cultural careers workshop series that will be accompanied by mentorship clinics and a young artist marketplace event. The Coordinator will also oversee the development of three innovative art-based tools that will be created to summarize information shared in the workshops.

Headwaters Initiative Project
Project Coordinator – 3 days/week; 1 year term with possibility for extension

Headwaters Initiative Project, a project of Tides Canada Initiatives, works to create a more informed and connected community engaged in the conservation of some of British Columbia’s great rivers. Its goal is to expand and empower the network of individuals and organizations concerned about the impacts of proposed developments – particularly in relation to energy and salmon ecosystems. Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Coordinator will support Headwater Initiative Project’s (HIP) mission, goals and objectives by successfully implementing and maintaining the operating, financial and administrative systems, policies and procedures that support the HIP, as managed by Tides Canada Initiatives Society (TCI).
