Vice President, Philanthropy

Tides Canada is seeking a dynamic and creative Vice President, Philanthropy to bring strategic fundraising leadership to the organization and grow its comprehensive development functions. This is a significant leadership opportunity to leverage and grow Tides Canada’s exceptional successes, brand, and relationships to new heights.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President, Philanthropy will be a member of a dynamic and collegial senior management team. Responsible for the overall strategic fundraising goals of Tides Canada, the Vice President will design and implement an organization-wide development program in collaboration with other members of the senior management team, board and professional staff within information management, communications and marketing, and the three business units: Philanthropy, Strategic Grantmaking, and Tides Canada Initiatives.

Vice President, Information and Communications
Vancouver – Full Time

Based in Vancouver and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will provide integrated leadership across the areas of communication and marketing, information management and impact assessment, allowing the organization to realize efficiencies, increase impact, and deliver its message with clarity to varied audiences. As the chief strategist for next-generation information management and its effect on communications, you will also ensure Tides Canada’s ability to creatively and convincingly articulate its vision, mission and impact.

Who are you? A leader, mentor and team builder, you are able to provide an entrepreneurial and adaptive approach to management in a dynamic operating environment. An expert communicator, you have a demonstrated knowledge of communications, marketing, information and business systems through your relevant Master’s level degree and 15+ years of experience. Your strategic mindset, ability to establish positive working relationships with diverse parties, and talent for efficient implementation will help foster credibility with both internal and external partners.

Not Far From The Tree, a project of Tides Canada Initiatives, puts Toronto’s abundance of local fruit to good use by picking and sharing the bounty. We engage and mobilize Torontonians to steward the food- producing trees in our urban forest. Our innovative and award-winning programs promote urban ecology, activate local food and build social cohesion.

Reporting to the Project Director, the Fruit Picking Coordinator will schedule fruit picks, manage fruit picking volunteers, ensure our equipment is in good working order and maintain excellent records of the program. Please note: this is a desk job and the position does not require the coordinator to be present on picks.

The Inner Activist offers leadership development courses designed to help individuals grow the essentials skills they need to be an effective force for change in their lives, workplaces and communities. They are seeking an individual to work part time from their home for three months to assist us with outreach and enrolment of participants in our upcoming course, Building Conscious Use of Power which takes place October 4 – 8, 2014.
