Regional Specialist
Island Conservation Canada – Full-time, Permanent

Island Conservation Canada, a project of Tides Canada Initiatives, is a science-driven project dedicated to preventing extinctions and protecting natural ecological and evolutionary processes on islands. The project integrates and applies research, priority-setting, education, capacity-building, conservation action, monitoring and evaluation. The Regional Specialist will assist the Regional Director in managing the North America Regional Program. This will include integrated planning, fundraising, communications, projects and meeting logistics with different agencies of the United States and Canadian governments in addition to other NGOs, First Nations communities, private corporations, vendors, foundations and donors.

Event Manager
Jane’s Walk – Full-time, 6 months

Jane’s Walk, a project of Tides Canada Initiatives, is seeking a dynamic individual who is adept at project management, media relations, and can cultivate the community of Jane’s Walk city organizers and walk leaders. The Event Manager is responsible for the overall planning and successful delivery of the 2012 Toronto Jane’s Walk, and for supporting Jane’s Walks around the world. Reporting to the Director, the position will commence in February 2012 for a six-month term.

Coordinator of Community Outreach and Neighbourhood Parks
Toronto Park People – Part-time (21 hrs/wk), 12 months

Toronto Park People, a project of Tides Canada Initiatives, is looking for a new part-time temporary Coordinator of Community Outreach and Neighbourhood Parks who will lead Park People’s activities facilitating the development and enhancement of local park groups across Toronto with a special focus on Priority Neighbourhoods and communities with large populations of recent immigrants. The Coordinator will build partnerships with park groups, city staff, community groups and agencies to find and implement opportunities for improving parks and neighbourhoods. We are looking for a person who is results focused and is driven to deliver real, tangible improvements in our neighbourhoods. The position reports to the Executive Director and is based out of our office. The term of employment is for a 12 month period, working 21 hours per week.
