Civic Engagement

Centre for City Ecology
The Centre for City Ecology was created to further the ideas and legacy of Jane Jacobs, renowned urbanist and author. The goals and objectives of the CCE are to increase ‘urban literacy’, to promote civic engagement, community leadership and local involvement with the city-building processes. It seeks to increase the awareness and influence of residents in shaping the cities and neighbourhoods where they live. This project expands Sage Centre’s national network of city builders and links urban ecology with the conservation and environmental sustainability program at Sage Centre.
