Social Justice

Tides Canada supports charities and projects working to address
economic and social marginalization in Canada.

We focus on initiatives that engage in policy research and civic engagement, public communication strategies, and direct community programming.

Tides Canada has supported violence prevention programs in British Columbia focused on severely marginalized populations which include rural, immigrant, First Nations, and refugee women.

We have also commissioned research on affordable housing and homelessness issues, as well as capacity and movement building for the social justice sector.

Our current social justice agenda is focused on:

• raising the living wage and improving access to employment,
• advancing a universal childcare strategy,
• investigating the impacts of climate change on marginalized communities
• First Nation communities
