Oceans Initiative Marine Wilderness Project

Oceans Initiative is composed of a team of marine conservation biologists who conduct research on whales, dolphins, and other marine wildlife in British Columbia (BC) and around the world.  Their work addresses two themes: estimating animal abundance and distribution; and assessing impacts of human activities on behaviour, energetics, and population dynamics of marine wildlife.

The project focuses primarily in Pacific Canadian waters, surveying the animals and habitat between the waters surveyed by U.S. Federal agencies in California, Oregon, and Washington and Alaska.
