Do you want to give to your favourite charity abroad?
Make your gifts high-impact and tax-efficient: with our international grant-making program, you can leverage support for U.S. and international charities working on the causes that matter most to you.
One-time grant recommendations
To initiate a gift, simply contact Tides Canada with the following information:
- Name and website of the U.S. or international charity you wish to support and the purpose of the gift. The purpose of the gift can be for the general operations of the charity, or for a specific program within the charity.
- Value of the gift. Please note, all gifts must be $1,000 CAD or greater.
- Form of payment. We are able to accept gifts by cheque, securities, wire transfer or credit card.
We will then provide you with a donation form, a timeline for fulfilling the gift and a summary of the associated costs. For eligible gifts, a Canadian charitable tax receipt will be issued by Tides Canada Foundation within 4-6 weeks of the gift.
On-going international philanthropy through a donor advised fund
A donor advised fund helps you manage your philanthropy as an efficient alternative to setting up a charitable foundation. We make it easy for you to manage your charitable giving, fundraising and international grant-making.
Tides Canada Foundation hosts donor advised funds for Canadian donors who wish to support U.S. or international charities.
