For US Donors
We make it easy for Americans and Canadians with U.S.-sourced income to support their Canadian charities
In partnership with Tides Foundation in the United States, we ensure any donation of $1,000 USD or greater recommended to a Canadian registered charity generates a U.S.charitable donation receipt.
Here’s how it works:
- You contact Tides Canada to receive a donation form to contribute to the Tides Canada Exchange Fund at Tides Foundation in the U.S. by cheque or securities.
- You request that Tides Foundation makes a recommendation to Tides Canada Foundation to grant to the registered Canadian charity of your choice.
- Within three to six weeks of your donation, Tides Foundation provides you with an U.S. 501(c)(3) charity acknowledgment receipt that can be used for U.S. income tax purposes.
- Your Canadian charity of choice receives the grant in four to six weeks in a Canadian dollar amount equivalent to your U.S. dollar gift less 2% (retained by Tides Foundation).
All donations to Tides Foundation must be $1,000 USD or greater.
You double your impact with each donation. Every charitable dollar you recommend to a Canadian charity enables a donor in Canada to donate and recommend an equivalent gift to a U.S. or international charity and receive a tax receipt.
