Canadian Charities providing
Chile earthquake relief

How you can help

Educación Popular en Salud (EPES)
http://www.epes.cl/

Educación Popular en Salud (EPES) has been working for almost 3 decades in the poorest areas of Concepción, the city hardest hit by the February 27 earthquake in Chile. Donations to EPES through Tides Canada’s Canadians for Popular Education in Health Fund will go to a grassroots organization already on the ground, providing leadership and practical support. You can help by donating to the EPES Fund at Tides Canada.

Canadian Red Cross
http://www.redcross.ca/

The Canadian Red Cross is accepting donations to support Red Cross relief efforts in Chile. Canadians who wish to give may donate online, by calling toll-free 1.800.418.1111 or by visiting any Red Cross office.

Medicins sans Frontieres
http://www.msf.ca/

Members of the first MSF team arriving from Argentina are already in Santiago and will be traveling to the Maule region to assess needs in the coastal towns of that area. Help by donating online to support MSF’s emergency relief efforts in Chile.

UNICEF Canada
http://www.unicef.ca/

UNICEF and its UN partners are monitoring events and stand ready to help in the aftermath of an 8.8-magnitude earthquake that shook Chile early Saturday. To support UNICEF’s efforts, you can donate online or call 1.800.567.4483.

World Vision Canada
http://www.worldvision.ca/

World Vision has worked in Chile for 30 years and have more than 100 staff in the country, many living and working in areas close to the quake epicenter. However, given the magnitude of this disaster, World Vision is preparing to deploy additional staff to support the relief response. Help by donating online.

Salvation Army
http://www.salvationarmy.ca/

The Salvation Army has been working in Chile since 1909 and its emergency services were immediately mobilized to provide support and comfort. Concepcion is one of the hardest hit areas and tents have been set up to house 60 displaced families on the patio of a nearby Salvation Army church. Donations can also be made online or by calling 1.800.SAL.ARMY (725.2769) — please specify your donation is for the Chile Earthquake Relief Fund.
