BC Communications Lead, Canadian Freshwater Alliance

BC virtually-based (wok from home) | Applications accepted until role is filled

The Freshwater Alliance, a project on  Tides Canada’s shared platform, is a national initiative that builds, connects and supports freshwater constituencies across Canada. We work with environmental organizations, community groups, governments, and businesses to strengthen citizen engagement and participation in the protection of our lakes and rivers.

We have exciting opportunities across BC to heighten the public narrative for freshwater health. As BC implements a new Water Sustainability Act and as the impacts of Climate Change drive increasing pressures on the health of our waters and supporting infrastructure – the need to inform a public narrative on freshwater health is imperative. Communicating freshwater science to public audiences can be a challenge. That’s why we’re looking for a communication specialist to advance the public narrative around freshwater health in BC. The right person will be able to analyze freshwater data and develop and initiate a regionalized communications effort designed to transform complex scientific language into communications that will engage and connect to British Columbians.

For this position, we are looking to develop targeted regional communications that will inform public audiences, support organizing efforts, and engage decision makers.
