Thousands expected for Bridge to a Cool Planet

Posted on Oct 21, 2009

On October 24th, the International Day of Climate Action, thousands of Vancouverites will gather on Cambie Bridge in Vancouver for Bridge to a Cool Planet.

They will join together for an open-air gathering in Vancouver to build a cross-cultural movement to affect federal policy on climate change.

There will be face painting, salsa dancing, music and a lot of noise in and around Science World.

Schedule of Activities

Cambie Bridge will be closed to traffic and a solidarity march for a call to action on global warming happens all afternoon.

It’s a chance for everyone in Vancouver to come together and send a powerful message to Ottawa: Canada must be a world leader in climate action because it is the defining crisis of our times that will affect all our children and future generations to come.
