Forest Ethics Posts ‘Personals’ Ad to Obama
Posted on Feb 20, 2009
Forest Ethics urged action on climate change during Obama’s visit to Canada by drawing attention to the environmental impact of the Tar Sands.
Forest Ethics paid for full page advertisements in USA Today showing a map of North America dripping in ‘dirty’ oil.
In a cheeky twist, they also published a week long ‘personals’ ad in several US papers seeking a tall man inspired by basketball, heard reciting the words "yes we can", and interested in creating sweet climate change.
Forest Ethics holds a fund at Tides Canada that is dedicated to protecting endangered forests by transforming the paper and wood industries in North America and by supporting forest communities in the development of conservation-based economies.
