Girls Run Barefoot 14KM for Their Vilage
A new campaign of the African Rural Development Fund at Tides Canada has runners across
Some 235 girls started an initiative last year, running 14 kilometres, most of them barefoot, to raise money for their local communities. They raised $1500, an extraordinary amount in an area where most people live on no less than $1 a day. In December 2009, 700 girls are planning to join in.
