Renowned poem brought to life with music

Posted on Oct 14, 2009

The fortuitous narrative poem by PK Page Unless the Eye Catch Fire will be brought to life in a theatrical interpretation at Vancouver’s International Writers and Readers Festival on October 25th.

PK’s text describes the actions and thoughts of an elderly woman living in a quiet garden suburb during the final few months when the Earth warms up.

Her poem was originally written in the early 70′s and has been described as poetic science-fiction on ecological issues.

"There are no final answers, no final truths; while the world is burnt out and the earth ceases to exist, Babe/PK transcends into a different level of existence."  Anna Tchernakova

The celebrated Canadian actor Joy Coghill and award-winning Canadian clarinetist and improviser Francois Houle will bring P.K Page and her extraordinary story to life and it will be an opportunity to experience the collaboration of three of Canada’s most accomplished artists.
