The Economic Club Of Canada: “Charity And Prosperity – A Response To The Current Critique On Philanthropy In Canada”
The role and activities of Canadian charities have come under significant scrutiny in recent months, and the rhetoric has been heated on all sides of the debate. Tides Canada, a national public foundation focused on environmental and social justice philanthropy, has featured prominently in much of the discussion on what is unfolding in Canadian public interest philanthropy. Ross McMillan, Tides Canada President and CEO, will speak on the current critique of environmental charities, accountability and transparency in the charitable sector, and the work that Tides Canada is doing across the country to support healthy communities and a healthy environment.

Kudos, Congrats & Comments

Dear Mr. McMillan
I am very pleased to hear that you will be addressing this in your speech today. TIDES along with many other philanthropic organizations and ENGOS undertake vital work on behalf of Canadians and to safeguard nature. It is very sad to see a Canadian government not only bent on shutting down democratic debate in our country but vilifying those who work to secure a healthy, safe and sustainable future for all of us. Please know that you are supported in your efforts and thanked for your good work!!
Best,
Karen Kraft Sloan
