Ever wondered how the arts are changing lives around the world?

Posted on Sep 21, 2009

The International Centre of Art for Social Change (ICASC) and Simon Fraser University are hosting two events that promise to inform and engage you with the world of art for social change/art in community.

On Sunday, October 18th, from 2pm to 5pm at the Vancity Theatre, ICASC hosts Arlene Goldbard, one of the world’s leading writers in the field of art for social change. Ms. Goldbard will deliver a short presentation Creative Renewal: How Art Can Save Us Now and engage in dialogue with her audience.

On Tuesday, October 20th, ICASC and SFU’s Centre for Dialogue host an informal dialogue with Liz Lerman. Conversations, Questions and Freefall. This public dialogue is open to everyone interested in the field of art in community and social change, and the ways in which these practices enrich and inform every sector of our society. Ms. Lerman will also preview excerpts from her new book.

Attendance for both events is free, but space is limited. Learn more and register
