Hoops 4 Hope Fund
Hoops 4 Hope (H4H) has established the Hoops 4 Hope Fund at Tides Canada Foundation for the purpose of supporting charitable activities. Donors to Tides Canada Foundation may request that their donation be added to the Hoops 4 Hope Fund and, subject to the requirements of the Income Tax Act, will receive a charitable tax receipt.
Hoops 4 Hope (H4H) supports the development of young people through sport, here in Canada and Africa. Hoops 4 Hope (H4H) and Soccer 4 Hope (S4H) use sport as a vehicle to connect with young people and make a difference in communities.
Soccer 4 Hope recently brought its international program all the way up north to a small community called Kugaaruk in Nunavut. Rick Gill along with the H4H team went up to implement the program and train coaches to continue it after they left (see video above).
Since 1995, Hoops 4 Hope has helped thousands of children face the extraordinary challenges of growing up in communities plagued by poverty, HIV/AIDS, and the legacy of apartheid. H4H provides them with positive role models from within their communities and the basic tools they need to play team sports.
