Sara Hsiao joined Tides Canada in August 2014. She supports strategic and grantmaking programs across Northern Canada, Manitoba, and Ontario. Sara also helps lead organizational and programmatic evaluation.
Previously, Sara spent five years with the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada, where she developed, implemented, and evaluated education, research, and community-based conservation programs. She played important and diverse roles in the organization’s two largest conservation and community well-being programs in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Before that, Sara interned with the Environment and Energy section of the former Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in Washington, DC.
Sara has a BSc and a Master’s of Research, and has been published in Oryx—The International Journal of Conservation. Based in Toronto, Sara spends time getting outside, learning, and engaging in community-led solutions to issues close to her heart.
