United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Learn how our work aligns with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
In 2015, the United Nations adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, a global action plan that seeks to unite efforts around the world to end poverty and inequality, build more prosperous and peaceful societies and protect the planet. The SDGs are an ambitious and urgent call for action by all countries in a global partnership to implement strategies to achieve them.
Tides Canada’s work aligns with the SDGs and we are proud to participate in this international effort to align local community-led transformation through to global systems change. Like Tides Canada’s approach, the SDGs integrate social, environmental, and economic dimensions for lasting solutions. Each of our shared platform projects strongly aligns with one or more of the SDGs, as does our diverse grantmaking.
We align the SDGs to Tides Canada’s impact in solidarity with this global movement that shares our vision of a healthy planet with social equity and economic prosperity for all.
