Tides Canada names Sheherazade Hirji, VP Client Services

Sheherazade HirjiRoss McMillan, President and CEO of Tides Canada, announced today that Sheherazade Hirji has joined the organization in the newly created position of Vice President of Client Services.

As a member of the Tides Canada executive team based in Toronto, Sheherazade will provide a senior level presence for Tides Canada in eastern Canada and will oversee Client Services, one of the organization’s three business units. She is specifically accountable for expanding Tides Canada’s national presence as a provider of philanthropic services, including advised funds, to individual donors who seek to support actions that foster a healthy environment and just Canadian society.

“Sheherazade has a long history in the philanthropic sector, working for over a decade at the Trillium Foundation in senior roles, building and leading the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, and more recently advising diverse clients in a successful philanthropic consultancy,” said McMillan. “I believe that Sheherazade is exactly the right person to lead our client service work with individual donors and to expand our relationships in Ontario and the rest of eastern Canada.”

A lawyer by trade, Sheherazade is also an active volunteer. She is currently a Member of the National Committee of Aga Khan Foundation Canada and a board member at the Canadian Women’s Foundation. In 2009, she received the Hope Award, presented by the North York Women’s Shelter, in recognition of her outstanding commitment to advancing the cause of women and girls.
